Ritu Mehrish talked about “’Leader’s Block: How Great Leaders Recover After They Stumble” at the Speaker Contest Stockholm qualifier on 13 March 2019.
Key messages:
- Leader’s block is like writer’s block – it’s a creative slow-down.
- It’s a phase when the leader is uninspired, demotivated, and is unable to perform to the best of his or her abilities.
- Leader’s block is like the flu – it is contagious and can lead to serious issues if ignored.
- There are some early warning signs that need to be recognized, acknowledged, and overcome.
- Leader’s block is temporary, you can come out of it stronger, and you’re not alone.
The bottom line? Leaders cannot perform at their best all the time, and they can get stuck. Anyone can recognize and overcome their leader’s block.
