Russian-born Danish activist and author Selina Juul will be speaking at Nordic Business Forum in October 2017.
We are pleased to introduce the latest addition to our 2017 speaker lineup: Selina Juul. Juul is the founder of the Stop Wasting Food (Danish: Stop Spild Af Mad) movement, Denmark’s largest non-profit consumer movement against food waste. The movement has been featured in media over 7,000 times, including on the BBC and CNN.
Among her many accolades, Juul won the title Dane of the Year (Årets Dansker) in 2014, awarded by the Danish national newspaper Berlingske. And in 2013, she received the Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize. Since 2010, Selina Juul has written over 190 opinion-editorials and articles on food waste in Danish and international newspapers and magazines, including co-writing pieces with several ministers. Juul is also a columnist on food waste for The Huffington Post USA, and her feature on BBC received over 28 million views.
This year, Juul was selected for the Nordic Business Report’s Top 20 Responsible Leaders in Business in Northern Europe. She earned first place on the list for her efforts to reduce food waste in Denmark where, according to estimates by the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, food waste has reduced by 25% in 5 years. Juul continues to do amazing work, and we are excited to hear more from her at NBForum 2017 in October!
