She helps executives, managers and teams answer the critical question “What thoughts deserve my full attention today?”
With “growth” being the central theme of Nordic Business Forum 2019, we sat down with Juliet to get her take on what it means from her perspective.
Nordic Business Forum: What does “growth” mean to you?
Juliet Funt: Growth is a mindset that I hope I never lose and that I like to see in my employees, clients and even my children. To be able to believe and to act on a future that may be better than the present is a glorious conviction and yet one that is hard to maintain in the ups and downs of business.
NBForum: What has growth looked like in your profession and/or personal career?
JF: For me, it’s looked like failures that lead to improvement. Being an entrepreneur is filled with a manic roller coaster of ups and downs and I learned long ago that if I focus on the lesson and not the emotions of this process, I do better.
NBForum: What factors do you think your industry needs to prepare for when we talk about “growth” and the future?
JF: Our industry, that of training and speaking, has a ravenous appetite for growth and that is good in the human sense but can crate overwork and imbalance when every time you get where you are going they move the finish line. Many experts need to learn to be content where they are and not keep comparing themselves to the next professional up the chain.

At Nordic Business Forum 2019, Juliet will be speaking about how growth is necessary to adopt new orientations to work. She will also touch on the dark side of growth, where nothing that we ever do or achieve seems like it’s enough.
